Imogene Dolores Dixon Holmes went home to be with the Lord Sept. 25,
2013. Born Aug. 10, 1925, in Ranger, TX, she spent most of her life in
Van Horn, where she met and married the love of her life Kenneth Bailey
Holmes who passed away in 2004.
She was a devoted wife and mother who is survived by her four
children and their spouses Patricia Holmes Gunn and Tom Kennedy, Debra
Holmes White and Brad White, Ronald and Leta Holmes, and Donald and
Karen Holmes; eight grandchildren and their spouses Shai Sparks Frietze
and Hector Frietze, Kenneth-Ross and Angela Sparks, Benjamin and
Meredith White, Jacob White, Linsey Holmes, Rachael Holmes, Bailey
Holmes and Kenna Holmes; seven great grandchildren Eric, Christopher,
Debra Nicole, and Matthew Wood, Sterling and Sloan Sparks, and Nixon
White
A member of First United Methodist Church of Midland, Imogene had
been a follower of Christ since she was 13 years old. She also was an
avid crocheter and knitter. She loved any sporting event and received a
basketball scholarship to SMU.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8: pm, Friday, September
27, 2013 at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10 am, Sept. 28,
2013 at First United Methodist Church chapel, 300 N Main Street,
Midland, TX and graveside services at 4:30 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in
Ranger, TX. In lieu of flowers, please donate to McMurry University
Athletics or your favorite charity.
