Jose R. Sanchez, age 71, passed away in El Paso on September 30,
2013. Mr. Sanchez was born on February 20, 1942 in Sierra Blanca TX. He
was a lifetime resident of Sierra Blanca and a member of Our Lady of
Miracles Catholic Church of Sierra Blanca.
He is survived by his wife Tencha of Sierra Blanca, four sons: Ruben
Sanchez and his wife Mari Cruz of Sierra Blanca, Enrique Sanchez of
Phoenix, AZ, Gilbert Sanchez of Salt Lake City, UT, Joel Sanchez and his
wife Danielle of Sierra Blanca, his (daughter by heart) Teresa Garhart.
He is also survived by one brother, Juan Sanchez of Monahans TX, six
sisters: Amelia Ramirez of Sierra Blanca, Rosalia Armante of Monahans,
Socorro Durant of Salt Lake City, Yolanda Salazar of Monahans, and
Andrea Sotelo of Monahans. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gabriel and parents Gumercindo
and Elvira Sanchez. A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Miracles
Catholic Church on October 4, 2013. A burial followed at Sierra Blanca
Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ralph Perez, Tom Wells, Joe Garhart, Mac
Marquez Jr., Carlos Morales and Isidro Sanchez Jr. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to Carrillo Funeral Home of Van Horn.
