American Talc gets recognition for safety record

American Talc Company has been awarded three Safety Recognition Awards for its Allamore Mill, Wildhorse Mill and Rosa Blanca/American Mines at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Texas Mining and Reclamation Association.

These prestigious Awards are presented annually to mining companies in Texas who distinguish themselves by promoting a Safety Culture, putting their employees first and going through the year without a lost-time accident. The American Talc Company, in 2012, combined for a total 110,503 man-hours without a lost time accident.

“These Awards show the continuing commitment of all of our employees and their dedication to Safety. We are all proud to be recognized for our efforts and it is truly an honor to accept these prestigious Awards on their behalf,” said James Gregory, General Manager of American Talc Company.

American Talc Company is North America's largest supplier of ceramic talc. American Talc produces ceramic and industrial talc from two mines and two mills located 10 miles west of Van Horn, Texas.
