Obituary – Trinidad Hernandez, Sr.

Trinidad Hernandez, Sr., 84, passed away on Dec. 9, 2013 in Odessa at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. Mr. Hernandez’s occupation before retiring was ranch laborer. He was born on May 26, 1929 in El Porvenir, Chihuahua Mexico to Ramon Hernandez and Ascención Cigala Hernandez. He married Agustina Murillo Hernandez in El Porvenir.

A rosary was recited on Dec. 12 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A funeral mass was celebrated on Dec. 13 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiated by Father Saul Pacheco, burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton. Pallbearers were Trini Hernandez, Jr., Mario Hernandez, Francisco Hernandez, Angel Hernandez, Victor Hernandez and Adrian Trevino.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Agustina Hernandez of Van Horn, son, Trinidad Hernandez, Jr. and wife Lydia of Odessa, daughters Carmen Villalobos and husband Refugio of Odessa, Mellie Balcazar and husband David of Van Horn, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by parents, Ramon and Ascención Hernandez, three brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, and Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
