Obituary: Wanda Emily Harlow

Wanda Emily Harlow of Arizona City went to live with her Lord December 28, 2014.  Born July 6, 1943 in Hico, Texas to Hulet Leon “H.L.” and Estelle Leoner Harris Sowell, she later graduated from high school in Sweetwater, Texas.  She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager in the automotive industry alongside her husband for many years in both Texas and Arizona.  Mrs. Harlow loved life, both at work and at play.

After becoming a faithful member of First Assembly of God, Casa Grande, she became committed to her bible studies; it was evident that she took it all to heart.   Emily was an exceptional cook; we all enjoyed her cooking.  In later life, she was known to enjoy a Payday candy bar with her Dr Pepper.

Always fashionable, she will be remembered as a beautiful lady both inside and out. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Herb Harlow; son, Alan Worel of Casa Grande, Ariz., daughter, Ami Blaylock of Smyrna, Tenn., stepdaughter, Elizabeth Muscatell of Hurst, Texas, stepsons Steven Harlow of Fort Worth,  and Gary Harlow of Austin, and eight grandchildren. A celebration of life event will be held at First Assembly of God, Casa Grande, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Family Ty’s Assisted Living Home in Casa Grande, or Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande.  Both are wonderful organizations and provided such loving care for Emily throughout most of 2014.
