Morales embarks on new career at Van Horn Rural Clinic

Gilda Morales will begin treating patients at the Van Horn Rural Clinic immediately.  Dr. Morales is a Van Horn resident, and graduated from Van Horn High School.

She attended Sul Ross University and received two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Arts in Music. She began teaching music at Balmorhea, and a few years later after iconic band director Ralph Zamarippa resigned, Dr. Morales oversaw the band program at Van Horn for many years, including teaching several other courses.

Following a successful career as band director, Dr. Morales resigned from CCAISD and became a full-time student at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2000. 

She opened her a chiropractic practice in Dallas, and she served patients in the Uptown area as well as in the northwest area of Dallas.

Dr. Morales later graduated with an M.D. from American University of Antigua School of Medicine. She moved back to Van Horn in 2006, where she opened her chiropractic office on Broadway.

She recently closed her office in preparation to begin working at Van Horn Rural Clinic as a nurse practitioner (APRN), a degree she recently earned.
