Obituary: Estella Guerrero

Estella N. Guerrero, 77,  of Van Horn passed away on May 10, 2015 in Van Horn.  

Rosary was held on May 12 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on May 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Saul Pacheco officiating.  Burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Van Horn. 

Estella was born in McNary, Texas to Maria Luz Navarrette and Natividad Navarrette on November 25, 1937.  She went to school at Allamore, and Pecos.  She married Apolinar Shaeffer Guerrero on March 12, 1956 in Van Horn.  She was a homemaker.  

Estella was a Guadalupana and Cursillista.  Estella Loved watching sports like football (Dallas Cowboys), NASCAR (Tony Stewart), baseball (Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers), basketball (Spurs).  Estella loved Elvis Presley, Kenny G and loved doing all kinds of crafts.  

Estella’s greatest love was knowing she had the love of her life Chico, next to her every day.  She was a great caregiver, mother, and grandmother to her family and to everyone else that needed love and care.  

Estella never turned any one away.  She served her Lord by being a servant to all, caring for their needs and helping them find their way.  She gave freely without any expectation for anything in return.  

Estella Guerrero is preceded in death by her mother Maria Luz Navarrette, and her brother Richard Navarrette.  

Estella is survived by her husband Apolinar Guerrero Jr. from Van Horn.  She is also survived by her children: Apolinar Guerrero III and spouse Anita Brown from Van Horn, Guadalupe and Manuel Molina form Odessa, Bobbie and Mario Morales from Midland, Antonio and Debra Guerrero from Terlingua, and Lisa Guerrero and Frankie DeLaO from Van Horn.  Estella is also survived by her brothers and sisters Chona Benavidez, Tomas Navarrette, Juana Martinez, Natividad Navarrette Jr and Delia Licon; and her father Natividad Navarrette.  Estella is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were Vince De La O, Jeremiah Guerrero, Peter Jr. Mannex Molina Jr, Tony Guerrero Jr, Jake Guerrero, Mario Morales Jr., and Michael Morales.  
Honorary pallbearers were Maliki Guerrero, Austin De La O, Blue Norton, Frankie De La O, and Mario Morales.  

Memorial donations may be given to Apolinar Guerrero Jr. Apolinar Guerrero III, Guadalupe Molina, Antonio Guerrero, Bobbie Morales, Lisa DeLaO, DJ Norton, Mario Morales Jr., Michael Morales, and Nikki Conner.  

The family of Estella Guerrero wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Culberson County Hospital and Staff, Plenitud PAS, Brenda Gomez, Rocio Onate, Texas Oncology Center in El Paso, Miguel Villero, and all the people of Van Horn.
