Van Horn resident, Hazel Walker took her first helicopter ride with her grandson Kyle Walker on Tuesday of this week. Hazel is 99 years old and was all smiles as Kyle helped her out of the helicopter. Kyle said they covered about 150 miles, heading Southeast from the Airport and making a circuit around the nearby mountains, ending their tour over the Red Rock Ranch area before returning to the airport. Hazel moved to Van Horn several years ago from Carlsbad, NM to be closer to her son and daughter in-law Dennis and Becky Walker of Sierra Blanca, and their children. Photo by Lupa Jernigan
