Renovations at the Van Horn Convention Center are due to be completed by the end of June, said Jerry Pedroza, superintendent of construction for Pride General Contractors. In addition to expanding the building by 4,500 square feet, many much-needed upgrades have been made to bathrooms, the meeting room and to the stage. Mr. Pedroza said that five new AC units will be added for comfort and efficiency. A new media room adjacent to the stage will allow performers to adjust the sound system. Two new rollup doors have been constructed on the west side of the building for equipment and supplies to be brought in by persons renting the center. Also a new sprinkler system has been installed.
