The CCAISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) will be sponsoring a “Glow ‘N Go” 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, October 22 at 9:00 p.m. at the CCAISD’s Community Walking Course located in the Football Field Parking Lot. The SHAC is a committee comprised of parents, staff and citizens-at-large that is concerned with the issues of health and wellness in the school and the community. This event is being conducted in conjunction with October’s Breast and Liver Cancer Awareness Month and will be an introduction to the Community Walking Course. Entry fees will be $15/team (no limit on number of team members) with proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society. The glow sticks are being furnished by Aliviane.
The “Glow ‘N Go” 5K Walk/Run will start after the CCAISD Fall Festival which will be held in the School Cafeteria from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Fall Festival is a resurrection of the annual Halloween Carnival that used to be sponsored by the Twentieth Century Club many years ago, and will create an opportunity for various school organizations, clubs and classes to raise funds for their projects. The Fall Festival will feature a Children’s Costume Contest, and booths including various games, cake walk, concessions, jail house and face painting.
