Ruben “Pito” Martinez Jr., 46, passed away in El Paso, on July 7, 2013.
He was born in Fabens on Nov. 20, 1966 and was a lifetime resident of
Van Horn. He was a loving father, a loving husband, a fun and happy
person, he loved playing golf, being around friends and family he will
be truly missed. He is survived by his wife Lorena, his daughter
Nathalie and two sons, Ryan and Ruben Martinez III of Van Horn. He is
also survived by his sister Stephanie Limer of Euless, TX and sister by
heart , Charlie Reyna of Abilene, two brothers Jose Luis Talavera of Ft
Worth, and Javier Campos of Van Horn. He was preceded in death by his
parents Ruben Martinez, Sr. and Susie Talavera. A funeral mass was held
on July 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiated by
Father Saul Pacheco. Burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery. Pallbearers
were: Panky Corrales, Arnold Acosta, Harvey Corrales, Tata Corrales,
Eddie Reyna, and Dandy Deanda. Honorary Pallbearers were: Mike Juarez,
David Luna, Chema Solis, John Downing, Alvaro Flores III and Toto
Corrales. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carrillo Funeral Home
of Van Horn.
