Banky Stocks was born in San Angelo, Tex. to Louis and Banks Stocks on Jan. 12, 1925. He graduated from Pecos High School in 1942. He joined the Air Force in 1944, where he entered the pilot training program when World War II ended. Banky and Louise were married on Dec. 12, 1944 in Victoria, Tex., where he was stationed. After his discharge, Banky and Louise lived near Van Horn on the Roberts Ranch. Their first son, Jody, was born during this time. They later lived in Pecos, where son Russell was born. They moved to the Stocks Ranch near Kent in 1957 and lived there about 35 years. They moved to Midland in in 1991 until 1999 when they moved to Gilmer. Banky is survived by his wife, Weezie. They celebrated their 69th anniversary on Dec. 12. He is also survived by his sons, Jody Stocks and wife Karen of Scottsdale, Ariz., Dr. Russell Stocks and wife Jackie of Gilmer, Tex., granddaughters, Sandi Gish and husband David; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Avary Gish, Caroline, Jude, Aubrey, Halle and Evi LeBlanc; Alli Peyton, Drue and Brody Wilson; Sophia, Sam and Rachel Ross; sister, Joan Nobles of Brownwood Tex.
