After suffering their first loss of the season to the Wink Wildcats on Friday (Nov. 21), the Lady Eagles (3-1) bounced back in a great way against the Presidio Lady Blue Devils. The Eagles defeated their opponent 66-32.
The ladies converted many forced turnovers into fast break points. The ladies used their athleticism and speed to jump out to a 22 point lead by the end of the first quarter. Kianna Fierro led all scorers with 40 points and went 6-7 from the charity stripe. Karina Ramirez did a great job pressuring the ball and scored 11 points of her own. Also contributing to the cause was Marlen Ceniceros with 6 points. She played a great game in the paint and capitalized on great entry passes from her teammates.
The girls are truly buying into the defensive mentality that has been the focus of this season. Karina Ramirez and Cassandra Castro are establishing the defensive pressure early on and setting the tone for the rest of the team. The ladies will be in action on December 2nd, against the Fort Davis Lady Indians and will play in the Monahans Tournament, Dec. 4-6.
