Genoveva “Veva†Carrillo Nuñez, 87, passed away on Aug. 5, 2015 in Van Horn. She was born in Valentine on Nov. 4, 1927 to Alvino and Fidela Carrillo.
She is survived by her five sons: Eddie Nuñez and his wife Ruth of Van Horn, Victor Nuñez and his wife Lulu of Van Horn, Oscar Gonzalez and his wife Gloria of El Paso,
Placido Nuñez and his wife Minguo of El Paso and Raymundo Nuñez and his wife Lila of Visalia, CA.
She is also survived by one sister, Celia Mendoza of Odessa, and her two brothers: Miguel Carrillo and his wife Rosie of El Paso and Danny Carrillo and his wife Josie of Anna, Tex. Genoveva was blessed with eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral mass was held on Aug. 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, officiated by Father Antonio Martinez. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Placido Nuñez, CJ Nuñez, Victor Nuñez Jr., Oscar Gonzales Jr., Rudy Valdez, and Tony Santiago Jr. Services were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn.
