50 Years Of True Love

In 1963, two beautiful people fell in love at a drive-in in Van Horn.  It was love at first sight!

Dolores and Luz Sanchez, better known as Lolo and Mech, were united in holy matrimony on August 26, 1965.  They went on to have four children:  Maria Isela (Sally), Jaime, Javier, and Imelda Sanchez;  eight grandchildren:  Oscar III, Jessica, Tomas Espinoza, Ashley, Francis, Jaymie, Mercedes, and Julianna Sanchez;  two great-grandchildren; Roman and Jezlyn Borrego.  They are all their greatest blessing and pride and joy.

Mech worked for the Holiday Inn (present day Red Roof Inn) for over 25 years.  Lolo worked for Herb Harlow Motors for 18 years.  In 1983, he started his current business, Lolo and Sons Wrecker Service. To this day, he still works hard and diligently to provide for him and his lovely wife.  They are both loyal, active members at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

The Sanchez couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in August 1990 blessed by Father Uribe.  They were honored again on July 25, 2015 by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with a mass blessed by Father Saul Pacheco, followed by a reception and dance at the Community Center.  They were accompanied by loving family members, life-long friends, and mariachis to commemorate the special milestone.

After 50 years of marriage, Lolo and Mech are still deeply  in love.  You may still get a glimpse of them sitting next to each other on their truck as they drive along Broadway en route to their ice cream date!  The couple plans to retire at “Lolo’s Ranchito” in Lobo where they are currently building their cozy home.
