Eagles Clinch District, Will Face Rotan
The Van Horn Eagles capped off another undefeated season after taking down the McCamey Badgers, 13-2. The Eagles were up for the challenge despite giving up a run to the visiting team in the first part of the game. The Eagles combined for 8 RBI’s off 7 hits. Luis Escajeda earned the win from mound after pitching 4 strong innings. Escajeda earned one run but struck out 7 batters. Juan Zamora earned his first save of the season and retired the side with three strike outs in his relief appearance. With the victory, the Eagles earned their third consecutive district championship. Van Horn finished the regular season 12-9 overall. The Eagles will travel to Crane to face Rotan on Saturday, May 7th in the opening round of playoffs. First pitch is set for 12:00. This will be a one game playoff.
