Frontier Days events results; WSL dance rescheduled

David Mapula takes first place in the 5k run by a sizeable amount

Army service man David Mapula, a VHHS 2014 Graduate crossed the line first in the 3rd annual Okey Dokey 5k run. A tie for second place was shared by Natalie Hernandez and Mariah Quintana of Van Horn with Felipe Gonzalez Jr. crossing the line in 3rd place.

Hotter’n’ Hell and Ranch Rodeo roping judges, Button Garlic and Lance Garlic announced 1st place to Lance Perry team consisting of Lance Perry, Sam Dove, Chet Dove, Dow Jones and Will Moorland. Ranch teams in a tie for second place were Y6 Ranch, Bodie Means, Chuy Navarrete, Isreal Hinojos, Clay Miller and Michael Davis and Valentine Kindergarted team of Noelberto, Enrique, Demetrio Navarrete, Evan Hall and Marcello Urias.

1st place in the #12 Buckles team were Bodie Means and Christopher Balcazar. 1st place in the #10 Buckles team ropers were Enrique Navarrete and Omar Flores.

Lance Perry team also took the wild cow milking, sorting, doctoring and branding top honor.

Due to inclimant weather in the latter part of the day, the Women’s Service League were forced to cancel the dance featuring Abe Mac and have rescheduled Mac to play at their Halloween event this year.
