Father Saul Pacheco, priest and spiritual leader of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, has been reassigned to Our Lady of Assumption parish in El Paso. His duties there, while not finalized, will include what he does best—to breathe new life and spirituality into his new parish and to energize the congregation. During his short three years here in Van Horn, Father Saul revitalized the Our Lady of Fatima community, not only greatly increasing the number of parishioners participating in the sacraments, but pushing for increased involvement in many new ministries. Father Saul was feted with a going away party last Sunday, giving parishioners a chance to express their appreciation and love for a priest who became a member of everyone’s family. You will be sorely missed, Father Saul.
