The Lady Eagles were on the road today to take on Tec de Monterrey. The JV team had some good plays but fell short after some communication errors set in. It was a tough one for them but they hung on as long as they could. Once they get their confidence going these girls can really do great things. Hang in there JV team!!
The Varsity team came out on fire in the first set. After the first set it looked like it was going to be an easy win. However, in the second and third sets the Lady Eagles made several fundamental errors that put them in tough positions. They dug themselves too deep in both sets, making it hard to make plays. After two weak sets, the Lady Eagles came back and won the fourth set forcing a fifth and final set. An amazing fourth set helped set the tone for the final set. However, Tec de Monterrey did not go down without a fight. Once again the opposing team gave us everything they had and made us earn our victory. The score for the final set was 15-12. Once again, the Lady Eagles proved they have the physical and mental stamina to go the distance. I am more than certain that these extensive and challenging matches will translate to big wins in the playoffs. Way to play girls!
The Varsity team will play Dell City this Friday at 5:00 p.m. for their 4th district match. Swing by the gym and support the Lady Eagles before making your way to the field to support Eagle Football. GO EAGLES!
