Obituaries – Tony Lopez

A loving, patient and kind man Antonio “Tony” Lopez surrounded by his loving family passed away in Odessa, Texas on October 4, 2016, he was 76.

Tony was born on June 29, 1940 to Enrique and Marcella Lopez in Sierra Blanca, Texas.  He met and later married the love of his life Maria on April 14, 1966.  Tony and Maria celebrated their “Golden Wedding” anniversary this year.  They had four children together.

Rosary was recited on Friday, October 7, 2016 and Mass of Christina Burial was held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Antonio Martinez officiating.  Burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery.

Tony was a jack of all trades.  Two professions that where most near and dear to him, was working for Culberson County as the grave digger for the cemetery, as  well as later in life running his own small engine repair company out of his home.   

He enjoyed watching his beloved San Francisco 49ers play football.  As well, Tony would always have time to enjoy his favorite television shows “Gun Smoke” and “Bonanza”.  He spent countless hours after his retirement enjoying these shows as wells watching game shows.  Tony was very active church member as well as active with his grandchildren.

Tony was preceded in death by both his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Maria, his sons, Jose “Joe” and his wife Maria “Chela of Odessa and Ismael of Fort Stockton.  His daughters, Lupe Acosta and husband Golo of Van Horn and Patricia Ramirez and husband Adolfo of Sierra Blanca. Granddaughters, Ashley Lopez, Melody Ramirez, Destinee Acosta and Andrea Lopez, his grandsons, Alex Lopez, Benny Lopez, Eliazar Lopez, Ethan Lopez, Josh Ramirez, Mark Acosta, Adolfo Ramirez, Jr., Elijah Ramirez as well as two great grandchildren Jisselle Lopez and Zavery Lopez Molina and two brothers Cruz Lopez and his wife Emilia and Henry Lopez and his with Delia, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Gene Lopez, Ralph Lopez, Freddie Lopez, Joshua Ramirez , Jeremy Lopez, Juan Apodaca

Honorary Pallbearers were Alex Lopez , Elijah Ramirez , Adolfo Ramirez Jr, Marc Acosta
