A cooperative effort between the Culberson County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency to address the growing problem of unused and expired prescription medications falling into the wrong hands and area landfills.  Sheriff Oscar Carrillo assists with the much needed collection and admits that the majority of what was received comes from inmates that have transferred from the West Texas Detention Facility in Sierra Blanca with local residents only surrendering a small percentage.

The Sheriff’s Office is available as a depository for this purpose year round.  Residents can also dispose of old and unused ammunition and firearms with the Sheriff for proper disposal with the ATF.  For more information call the Sheriff’s office at 432-283-2060.
