The Junior High Lady Pirates had an open date scheduled for December 5, but at the last minute were able to fill the date with a game in Alpine against the 7th Grade Lady Bucks. The Pirates were able to pull out a 31 to 21 win with the three eighth graders scoring 25 of the Pirate’s 31 points. Jaymie Sanchez led all scorers with her nine points followed closely by Samantha Kuhlman and Cecilia Corral who both added eight points each. Seventh grader, Mickie Siddiq scored four points and sixth grader, Jordan Miller closed out the scoring with her two points.
The Pirates were behind at the end of the first quarter by a score of 8 to 7 but managed to take the lead at halftime 21 to 14 and never trailed thereafter.
The Pirates play host to the Lady Indians from Fort Davis on Monday, December 12 at 5:00 to close out the first half of the season.
