New clinic on mark for April

Van Horn Rural Health Clinic is planning to move into its new location sometime in April 2017.

` Renovation of the South Wing of the original Culberson Hospital continues to move forward, with almost all of the “behind the walls” work, such as electrical and plumbing, nearing completion.

The walls are scheduled for texturing this week, with paint to follow before Christmas, according to Jerry Reiner, president of Ameriway, the project contractor.

“Now that the walls are up, it is very easy to see how much better the space will be for our patients, providers and clinic staff,” said Jonathon Voelkel, hospital administrator.  “We cannot wait for the project to be completed and to show off our new space to the community.”

“We are all grateful to the Culberson County Hospital District Board and the residents of the Culberson County Hospital District for making this project possible,” Voelkel said.

Tentatively expecting completion in March and should be up and operational by mid to late April, contingent on time it takes to do the inspections.
