2 from Alpine narrowly escape serious injury after hitting a horse just east of Van Horn on Highway 90 Monday morning halting traffic. Sheriff Oscar Carrillo stated there are 3 to 4 incidents a year with either horses or cattle roaming the the highways along with 7 to 10 vehicle accidents with deer.
