Denver City…….Funeral Services for Bobby Allen Burchard, 83, will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John McLean officiating and assisted by J.P Senter. Graveside services will be on Monday February 20, 2017 at 1;00 P.M in Van Horn cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. He passed away Wednesday February14, 2017 in Denver City.
Bobby was born July 16, 1933 in Pecos, Texas to Joseph Burchard and Mattie Ruth Jackson Burchard. He served the United States Marine Corp. Bobby married Sammie Wray Beckham on August 11, 1961 in Jal, NM. He was a teacher, coach, and cattleman. He taught in Crandall, Red Oak, and Lamesa Texas over 20 years. Graduated from Texas Tech University, earning 4 under graduate degrees and his Masters from Sul Ross University. And was a member of The First United Methodist Church. . He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother Dr. Joe David Burchard..
Bobby is survived by his wife Sammie Wray Burchard of Denver City Texas, One son Shawn M Burchard and his partner Kenneth D. Lopez of Denver City, Texas; One daughter Beth Waldrip and her husband Justin of Caldwell, Texas; A sister LaRue Worley and her husband Paul of Georgetown, Texas; A grandson Samuel Allen Waldrip also of Caldwell Texas; along with many nieces and nephews.
