Tornillo Port of Entry Finally Becomes Marcelino Serna Port of Entry

El Paso, TX – U.S. Representative Will Hurd will be in El Paso County celebrating three groundbreaking projects for the Socorro, Clint, and Tornillo communities on Wednesday, April 19. The Congressman will attend the groundbreaking ceremonies of the Cotton Valley and Cuadrilla Water Treatment facilities in Socorro and Clint, that will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 365 area residents combined.

Additionally, after two years working with local El Paso leaders and federal agencies in Washington, Congressman Hurd will celebrate the official re-naming of the Tornillo-Marcelino Serna Port of Entry, honoring the most decorated Texas veteran from WWI. Over 200 veterans and local leaders are scheduled to attend, as well as Gloria Serna, the surviving daughter of Private Serna.
