Chamizal National Memorial Celebrates 101 Years of the National Park Service

Superintendent F. Gus Sanchez invites you to help us recognize the 101st anniversary of the National Park Service. Last year, we commemorated the August 25th centennial by celebrating the agency’s first 100 years of preserving the special places saved by the American people. At Chamizal National Memorial we want to move into the next century by taking a fresh look at how El Paso’s national park shares our heritage in this community.

We invite you to join park rangers and other community members at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 16, to participate in an event that showcases the value of national parks and encourages you to reflect on the meaningful experiences that Chamizal National Memorial provides in our community. As part of our monthly Chamizal Asks: What Do You Think? series, the experience will also include the presentation of work accomplished to date on the park’s new Outreach Plan with an opportunity to tell us what you think and shape the way we reach out and serve the community through events at the Memorial.
