Julian G. Fuentes

Julian G. Fuentes, age 85, passed away on August 10, in Van Horn. Julian was born on June 4, 1932 in Fort Davis, to Guadalupe and Florentino Fuentes, Sr.  He was a longtime resident of Van Horn.  For over thirty-two years he enjoyed working with Euraline, Darice, Celise and Tertia McVay, at their family ranch. He will be truly missed by family and friends.

Julian is survived by his three daughters:  Mary Grace Franklin and her husband Jerry of California, Betty Clark and her husband Walter, of New Mexico, and Lupe Fuentes, of New Mexico. His two sons: Frank Fuentes and his wife Maria, of New Mexico and David Fuentes, stationed in Germany.  Julian is also survived by his sister, Gloria King and his brother Ernesto Fuentes and his wife Perfeta of Van Horn. He was blessed with twenty-five grandchildren, sixty-five   great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Julian in death are: his wife, Diana, daughter, Betty, his parents, his brothers: Florentino and Ben, his granddaughter Nancy, and grandsons: Larry Flores and Kevin Fuentes.

A viewing was held on August 14, at Heritage Funeral Home in Van Horn.  The rosary and funeral mass were also held on August 15, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Van Horn, the mass officiated by Father Apolinar Samboni. The burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Frank Fuentes, Daniel Flores, Joseph Follette, Wally Abreo, Rodrigo Rodriguez, and Reynaldo Ceniceros.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Jerry Aumiller, Sr., James King, Richard Vasquez and Carroll Aumiller.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, of Van Horn.
