The young and inexperienced Valentine Junior High Lady Pirates basketball team continue to struggle as they complete the first half of the district schedule. The Pirates fell to the Lady Indians in Fort Davis on Monday by a score of 27 to 8. Eighth grader, Mickie Siddiq scored all eight points for the Pirates who were only down 9 to 4 at halftime.
Other team members include 8th grader, Bela Oldham, seventh graders, Jordan Miller and Isabel Guillory, and sixth graders, Claudia Figueroa and Fabiola Urias.
The Pirates will return to play on January 11 when they host the Lady Vaqueros from Sierra Blanca.
