Obituary— Manuel Sanchez Baeza
Manuel Sanchez Baeza was born on March 20, 1953 in Pilares, Mexico to Domingo Baeza and Manuela Sanchez. He passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Culberson County Hospital.
He married the love of his life, Escolastica Mendoza Baeza on July 16, 1972. He was an amazing father to their five children and seven grandchildren whom he loved dearly and loved spending time with.
He was a long time resident of Van Horn, Texas where he worked at the local talc mine for over 40 years. He was well known in the community for his talents as a welder and for being a sociable man. He was an avid gardener with a green thumb and had a great love for all animals. He liked to indulge his sweet tooth with all kinds of cookies. He was a long-standing member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista.
He is survived by his wife Escolastica Baeza of Van Horn Texas; son Manuel Baeza Jr & wife Katie of La Grande Oregon; son Sammy Baeza & wife Sindy of Midland Texas; daughter Pamela Baeza of Van Horn, Texas; daughter Lizette Baeza of Van Horn, Texas; son Timothy Baeza of Van Horn, Texas; grandson Jericho Baeza of Billings Montana; granddaughter Gabrielle Baeza & grandson Steven Baeza of La Grande Oregon; grandsons Maximilian Baeza, Zachary Baeza and Copper Baeza of Midland, Texas; grandson Darren Baeza of Van Horn, Texas.
The funeral services for Manuel were held at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Van Horn, Texas. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving were: Manuel Baeza Jr., Sammy Baeza, Timothy Baeza, Darren Baeza, Jericho Baeza, Maximilian Baeza, Zachary Baeza, and Steven Baeza. Honorary Pallbearers were: Coopper Baeza and Gabrielle Baeza.
