Obituary— Javier Mendoza

Obituary— Javier Mendoza

Javier Mendoza, a lifelong resident of Van Horn, Texas, entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Javier was born to Victor and Manuela Mendoza on December 8, 1961.

Javier was a retired Border Patrol agent of 30 years and was currently serving as the Culberson County Commissioner for Precinct 1. He spent the majority of his time playing golf with his father and close friends. He enjoyed traveling around on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, in which he was an avid collector of the shirts and memorabilia. He was also an all-time Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a committed husband to his wife Raquel, and a devoted father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. Family was everything to Javier and often said he felt fortunate and grateful for who he had as his family. His children would always inquire what he wanted on special occasions but all he ever wanted was their happiness. Javier always made sure to check on everyone and make sure they were doing okay. He was someone who always put everyone ahead of himself and had sadly left so many things undone that he wanted to accomplish. Though our time with him was cut short, we are left with the most beautiful memories and cherish the time we had with him.

He will forever be missed and in our hearts forever. We (his family) will always “love you mucho”!

Those left behind to cherish Javier’s memories are his wife Raquel Mendoza, his son Rene Mendoza and his wife Jasmin, his daughters, Britany Carrasco and wife Bernice, Jessica Schrock and her husband Adam, KaSandra Soto and her husband Ismael, Elizabeth Baeza and her husband Juan. Also, to cherish his memories is his father Victor “Chato” Mendoza and his brothers Rene Mendoza, Sr. and Victor Mendoza, Jr.
