Obituary— Dora Hinojos

Dora Lujan Hinojos went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2023, at the Culberson County Hospital in Van Horn, Texas. She had the privilege of living a long and fulfilling life, having been blessed with 91 years. Dora was born on July 10, 1931, to Ignacio and Tomasa (Jimenez) Lujan, and her memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Dora married Alejandro Hinojos in 1956. They lived at the Chispa Ranch, Jeff Davis County for 42 years until he passed. They had been married for 43 years. After leaving the ranch she lived in Van Horn for 21 years.

Dora is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, eight sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Efrain (Margie) Hinojos, Alma (Butch) Villarreal, Artemio (Anna) Hinojos and Serjio (Betty) Hinojos. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at The First Baptist Church of Van Horn on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, officiated by Pastor Don Parker. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving were Richard Hinojos, Candace Hinojos, Aaron Villarreal, JoVanna Hinojos, Jacob Fuentes, and BJ Fuentes.

Honorary Pallbearers were Adrian Hinojos, Alana Hinojos, and Jeanette Hernandez.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas.
