She was born Josefina Anna Valenzuela on January 16, 1949, in Van Horn, Texas, to parents Juanita and Jorge Lucas Valenzuela. Josie, as she was affectionately known, had many cherished memories growing up in Van Horn with her family, and those memories played an important part in her life.

In 1969, Josie married a Van Horn classmate, and together they had two daughters, Joeanna and Raquel. Over the years, Josie and her family lived in various parts of the country before settling in Oklahoma City in the mid-1980s. There, Josie worked in sales, showcasing her talent and dedication.

Josie’s true love story began in 1991 when her path crossed with the love of her life. Together with her husband, Wendell, they built a home in Piedmont, Oklahoma, in 2000, where they resided for the past 22 years. Josie’s warm and caring nature made her excel in her career in jewelry sales, particularly in bridal sales.
