Pablo Rodriguez Ortega 76, of Odessa and formerly of Van Horn, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Odessa.
Rosary will be on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and burial will follow at Van Horn Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home in Van Horn.
Pablo was born in Van Horn. on January 10, 1938 to Pablo and Benita Ortega. Pablo grew up and lived in Van Horn for most of his life and worked at Heath Auto Supply.
Mr. Ortega served his country in the Army from 1960 to 1962 and received the Good Conduct Medal.
Pablo is preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Benita Ortega, and three brothers Celestino Ortega, Alberto Ortega, and Guillermo “Willie†Ortega.
Pablo is survived by his two sisters Mary Lou Uranga, and Carmen Rodriguez both of Odessa; nieces Barbara Ramirez of Odessa, Elizabeth Carron of El Centro Calif., Benita “Lulu†Siaosi, Mona Rodriguez both of Hobbs New Mex,. and Virginia Mendoza; nephews Paul Uranga of Van Horn, Johnny Rodriguez of Odessa, Victor Rodriguez of Birmingham Ala., and Willie Ortega of Van Horn.
Pallbearers are Jake Rodriguez, Guadalupe “Chito†Ramirez, Paul Ortega, Mark Aguilar, Mario Ortega, and William Ortega. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Rodriguez and Merced Valdez.
