On Saturday, May 25, 2013, Jerrod Jones (VHHS 1998) and Ross Mitchell (VHHS 2005) each participated in commencement exercises and received JurisDoctor degrees from the South Texas College of Law in Houston.
Previously, Jerrod Jones received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University (BA cum laude in Latin American & Iberian Studies, 2003), and later, a Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University.
Ross Mitchell received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University (BBA, 2009). The graduates plan to spend the summer studying for the Texas Bar Exam, and afterward each plans to pursue a career in law and/or business in the Houston area.
Jerrod is currently employed by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, while Ross is employed by the law firm of JL Carpenter, in Houston. Several current and former Van Horn residents attended the graduation in Houston last weekend.
