In the final home game of the 2013 Football Season, the Van Horn Eagles fell to the #9 ranked team in state by a score of 46–14. The Eagles matched the Braves play for play early in the first quarter before surrendering a couple of long runs and passes as the Braves opened up a 33–0 halftime lead. After halftime, the Eagles outscored the Braves 14 –13 in the second half as Fabian Baeza 6 passes for 56 yards and a 19- yard touchdown to Jeremy Virdell. Fabian Baeza also contributed with 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. Daniel Quintana added 44 yards rushing and a two point conversion while leading the Eagle defense with 10 solo tackles and assisting on 8 more.
The Van Horn Eagles will travel to Wink on Friday for their final 2013 Football game. We would love to see all the Eagle fans possible as the Eagles try to close out this campaign with a victory. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
