Sylvia Porras Sanchez, age 85, passed away on November 3, 2013 in
Odessa, Texas. She was born in Valentine, Texas on May 22, 1928. Sylvia
was a lifetime resident of Valentine and a member of The Sacred Heart
Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Lucas Sanchez of
Valentine, and her two daughters: Meg Walker of Spring Branch, Texas,
and Mary Sanchez of Alpine. She was blessed with one granddaughter,
Taryn Walker, one grandson, Cody Walker and one great granddaughter,
Brooklyn Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents Severro and
Josefina Porras, her sister Beatrice Flores and her brother Ismael
Porras. A funeral mass was held on November 7, 2013 at the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church. A burial followed at the Valentine Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Cody Walker, Leonard Porras, Larry Porras, Jesse
Porras, Pablo Carrasco and Sonny Pantoja. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Carrillo Funeral Home of Van Horn.
