The Van Horn Advocate will be accepting photos, post cards and other Bankhead Highway collectibles. We will scan the originals for you. and send the scanned copies to Bankhead officials.
Van Horn played a major role in the Bankhead Hwy. construction because of its strategic location on I-10. The Bankhead Association is collecting information for a report due to be issued in July 2014.
The project aims to develop a historic context in terms of historic buildings and structures along the highway, make information available to the public and promote tourism.
