The Advocate presented to you in living color!

By Robert Morales —

You may have noticed a change today when you picked up your copy of The Van Horn Advocate. We've changed printers and we've added four-color process printing.

The Advocate is now being printed by Signature Offset in Las Cruces. The company has offices throughout the U.S., and prints for other newspapers and magazines.

“When I saw the samples of other newspapers that Offset Signature printed, I was sold,” said editor Robert Morales. “The color is perfectly registered, and it would be tough to beat printing of this quality.”

The Advocate was previously printed by The Monahans News, and the Advocate thanks editor-publisher Smokey Briggs and production manager Bruce Shores. The News printed the Advocate for a little over 35 years during former editor Larry Simpson's tenure and for an additional year following Mr. Simpson.

“I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Shane and Lacrecia Grubb, who drove to Monahans for more than a year to pick up the Advocate,” said Morales.

Color will likely not be used on page 2 or in the Classifieds section. Also, color may or may not be used on the same pages from week to week.
