Theodore Lee Jr.,42, from Petersburg, Indiana, sometimes known as Ted, yesterday shot himself in what Sheriff Oscar Carrillo called an “armed stand-off.” He was pronounced by EMS shortly after he shot himself in the head at a house located at Fourth and Houston Streets.
Upon further examination of Mr. Lee's background, the facts reveal that Mr. Lee had a checkered background in Indiana. According to the Indiana Department of Corrections web site, Mr. Lee was sentenced on Feb. 25, 1994 on counts of attempted robbery and serious bodily injury in Pike County, the county seat of Petersburg.
Also on Feb. 25, 1994, Mr. Lee was sentenced to six years on a charge of battery. On July 23, 1993, he was sentenced to one year in prison on three counts of battery in Martin County.
