Obituary — Carmen W. Ball

Carmen Womack Ball was escorted to her Heavenly home by GOD’s Holy angels on Thursday June 5, 2014. A Celebration of her life was held Saturday June 14, 2014 at Faith 4 Life Church 1000 McNeil Rd. in Round Rock, Tex. Carmen was born January 30, 1924 to Paul Hanson Womack and Lenora W. Womack in Bosque County, Meridian, Texas. Carmen received her Lord and Savior at an early age, being raised in the Presbyterian Church. During her adult life, she attended the First Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Church while living in Van Horn. Her siblings include Lenora Hettie Womack Jenness of El Paso; Paul Hanson Womack, Jr. of El Paso; Laetitia Jane Womack Love of El Paso; Cecil John Womack Larremore of Odessa; and Carroll Berwyn Womack of California. Carmen’s parents and all but one sibling, her sister, Cecil, preceded Carmen in death. Carmen married Earl LaRoy Ball, from Twelve Mile, Indiana, in a quiet ceremony July 16, 1942 in El Paso where Corporal Ball was stationed at Fort Bliss. They were warned by many that “war-time marriages” didn’t last. Proving them wrong, they celebrated 57 years in 1999. Earl had his home-going January 1, 2000. Carmen and Earl have five children. The oldest, being Berwyn Leigh Ball, married to Rod Fisk and living in Hamilton, Texas; Hillary Ann Ball, married to Chet Kimmel and living in Hutto, Texas; Larry Earl Ball, married to Linda Eichhorst Ball and residing in Peyton, Colorado; Dan Ellsworth Ball married to Robin Joyce Ball and residing in Divide, Colorado; and Rebecca Sue Ball (deceased). Included in Carmen and Earl’s legacy are 14 grand-children, 18 great-grand-children, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews – grand and great. The last year and a half of Carmen’s life was lived at the Hampton Senior Living center in Round Rock, close to her daughters, Hillary Kimmel and family, and Berwyn Craig Fisk and families. A graveside service will be held in August in Midland.
