Valentine Radio now on the web and on 1610 AM

Brad Bernards has announced that locally owned Valentine Radio, an online radio station, is now officially operational. The station targets the West Texas communities of Van Horn, Ft. Davis, Marfa, and Valentine. The station has undergone a number of engineering tests in the preceding months and is ready for launch.

Valentine Radio features World News at the top of the hour and local weather 3 times per hour with the current temperature recorded in Valentine. Music is a smart mix of pop and adult contemporary music ranging from the 1950s to current adult hits.

The station uses professional recording and broadcast equipment similar to what might be found in a typical radio station.

Valentine Radio is a commercial station that serves these communities with no other access to a local commercial radio station. Texas News is presented by Brad Bernards Monday through Friday mornings after the weather every hour between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Also featured is Bill Hoff’s 30 minute show of Native American News Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Valentine Radio operates 24 hours a day.

The programming will be greatly influenced by the desires and needs of the community. “We hope to involve the people and schools of the area and to provide inexpensive radio advertising to those businesses that are looking to build their image.” said Bernards, station owner.

Valentine Radio can be found at valentineradio.net. A free app is available for listening for both Android and Apple devices. Valentine Radio also operates on a legal low power unlicensed FCC-certified Part 15 transmitter at 100 milliwatts. A good car radio will receive the station anywhere in Valentine.
