Lady Eagles Volleyball was hard at work on Labor Day Weekend. We hosted the Presidio Lady Blue Devils on Saturday. The varsity team started off a bit slowly, but they soon found their groove as their communication improved each point.
They really gained momentum in the last two sets making it hard for the Lady Blue Devils to make-up any kid of ground. The Lady Eagles stayed focused and gained another win taking Presidio in four sets. They have some minor tweaks and fundamental fixes they need to make but they’re still on the right track.
They’re still climbing and have yet to hit their peak and are exactly where they need to be at this point in the season. The Lady Eagles are 6-3 for the season and on the move.
Both JV teams put in a great amount of hustle this weekend, as well. The JV-B team came out on fire picking up everything and hustling for every point. They played with a tremendous amount of heart and came out on top taking the Lady Devils in two straight sets. This team continues to work hard and together which enables them to stay confident and focused as a whole.
The JV-A team came out with a bang winning the first set, but they slowed down a bit going into the second set. JV-A tried to regain momentum, but they fell short on the second set.
They were on top at the beginning of the third set, battling for every point, but their lack of communication killed their momentum in the end. Even though they did not have all of their starters, every single girl stepped up and played their role. The team will continue to work on consistency and confidence. Great job ladies and keep fighting.
Our teams continue to show improvement each week. Each of our teams may not always get the win, but a lot of great things are happening on and off the court. In the end, we must learn to be successful team players and leaders. As a program, we will continue to emphasis the values we set forth at the beginning of the season. Well done, Lady Eagles!
