In their final tune-up game before district play, the Lady Eagles capped off an amazing come back to defeat the Monterrey Tech Lady Rams last Friday.  The Lady Eagles trailed Monterrey most of the game, but the defense held the Lady Rams to just 5 points in the fourth quarter, and the offense responded with a 21 point rally. Jadein Tarango led the team with 12 points while Renee Rivera and Cyrenee Tarango provided a much needed defensive spark. Clare Mendez and Kristianne Virdell made some key shots down the stretch for the Eagles.

Junior Renee Rivera said about the win, “We’ve had our ups and downs this season, however, this game prepared us for our district games.” Senior Clare Mendez added, “This group of girls and I work hard every practice. These girls are a great group and I love being a part of their team. I hope that we strive even harder during district play.”

The Lady Eagles will travel to Anthony on Friday, January 15th for another district matchup.. s
