One of the projects being implemented through the Texas Performance Standards Project for advanced students at Van Horn Schools, is researching Texas Trails. Last Thursday Advocate Tech Assistant Adrian Gilmore explained design tools to Mrs. Fuentes’ 7th and 8th graders. Students learned how to navigate through the Weebly website in the advanced class. The end product is to create their own webpage for a report that they are writing and researching concerning the Texas Trails. Mrs. Fuentes said, “Mr. Gilmore’s demonstration motivated her students”.
The Advocate was pleased to have a representative to assist her.
When asked about the experience, Adrian stated, “Often, opportunity is simply having the knowledge to proceed from where you are. I was more than happy to share what information I have on the subject of websites. The students took very little instruction before zooming off into the many functions of their personal websites. It was very encouraging to be a part of.”
