Culberson Hospital EMS responded to a 911 call about 1:00 p.m. Sunday involving a blast injury in the northern part of the county.  An unidentified person was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso by Native Air due to the remote location.  Patient injuries from blast debris were non-life threatening.  Responders reached the pipeline right-of way accident, 22 miles west of Highway 54, a couple of hours after the initial call due to site terrain and confirmation of site safety.

There are two pipeline construction projects crossing Culberson County with communications imperative for various project activity.  As of press time, no comments were received by media relations personnel.
