Dell City ISD Superintendent Fabian Gomez announced the Dell City ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Jody Kotys as Principal of Dell City School for the 2016-2017 School Year at the regularly scheduled board meeting July 14.

For the past year, Ms. Kotys has worked as an educational consultant and liaison for Texas Educational Service Center Region 19 out of El Paso.  In that capacity, she worked with teachers and administrators at several school districts mentoring and conducting professional development.

“I always looked forward to coming out to Dell City because teachers were eager to learn best practices and the community members were so gracious,” Kotys stated. “When the opportunity to work on a daily basis in Dell City came up, I was really excited.  It will be amazing waking up every morning with the beautiful Guadalupe Mountains in the background surrounded by green fields and working with the terrific students and teachers at Dell City School. Working with teachers to help students become even more successful will be a real pleasure,” adds Kotys.

Kotys taught and directed One Act Play at Van Horn High School from 1983-1990.  She has been overwhelmed with the good wishes from former students and colleagues from the area. “I appreciate those so much.  It will also be nice to be closer to Van Horn to visit friends more often,” she stated.  Ms. Kotys will begin her official duties in August.
