Lady Eagles vs. Monterrey Tec

By Coach Erica Urias

The Lady Eagles came out swinging today against Tec de Monterrey. The JV came out strong but came up short in the end. The JV girls are moving much better on offense but their communication and passes were just off today. Unfortunately, they were the team with the most mistakes today. They will have a chance to redeem themselves when we play them in a few weeks in El Paso. Way to play JV team!

The Varsity team came away with a win today. These girls have been grinding like crazy this season both mentally and physically. They are looking excellent as we head into district play. Today, we faced a very, very scrappy and defensive Tec de Monterrey team. They picked up most everything we put down and kept coming. We had to work for tonight’s win. We hustled both on offense and defense today. Our passes were off a bit but our setters were still able to make plays and our hitters stayed ready. It is great to see our girls working so well together, now, when it matters most. Our team is exactly where it needs to be. As we anticipate the return of our middle blocker/hitter, Renee Rivera, our girls will continue to adjust and fight to the finish. Way to play Lady Eagles!

We will need a lot of support in the stands on Friday as we head to Fort Hancock for our first district match. For those not traveling to Seagraves to watch the football team, please try to make our game on Friday. Our girls are ready to defend their title as District Champions for the 5th year in a row. Go Eagles!
