Today marked an end to another era in Lady Eagle Volleyball, one that will be felt for a while. We battled today after being down over and over again. We went the distance, about as far as we could go, and just came up short. We left everything we had on the court and then some. It just wasn’t ours to win. God has another path for us and another lesson for us to learn. As we move forward this year we will carry with us some amazing memories. This team has been through more adversity this season than any other team I have coached and they kept up the good fight. They showed up to practice every single day and kept the pace even when I pushed them well passed their limits. I learned a lot about them and I know they learned a lot about themselves. This team was definitely a fighting team. Even when we were down, we were never out.
Well done, to all the underclassmen for staying focused and coachable from day one. I will take coachable over talent any day of the week. Keep working hard until next season! To the seniors, you will be missed more than you know. Your leadership and passion for this game showed up this season. You not only left an everlasting mark on the rest of the girls on your team who look up to you, but you left a mark on me, as well. You are forever etched on my heart. Well done, this season. It was one hell of a ride. Until next time…Once a Lady Eagle, always a Lady Eagle!
