Salvation Army needs bell ringers

By Lisa Morton

We would like to announce the annual local Salvation Army bell ringers Red Kettle Campaign.  The project begins the day after Thanksgiving on Friday November 25 and runs through December 23.

Commonly recognized, The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

100 percent of the donations received locally will be used and have been used to help those who find themselves in need in the Van Horn community.  The local effort helps with food and shelter among other household needs.

Volunteers of all ages will be accepted but minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the Kettle Campaign.  An organizational meeting will be held Tuesday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. at The Annex located at 703 W. Broadway in Van Horn.
